Everything you need to know bring home
and safely store first firearm
Guns Are All Around YouAccording to the most recent Gallup poll forty-seven percent of American households have one or more guns. This is the highest percentage since 1993. Ownership among women and democrats are up the highest percentage year over year with very steep rises. Far more of your neighbors than you might think already have firearms in their homes.
In addition, recent gun sales figures are on the rise. Generally measured based on the number of background check requests, every year for the last 12 years has seen an increase in gun sales. More firearms are being sold right now to American consumers than any previous period on our country’s history. Despite how you may feel about firearms, like many of your neighbors, you must accept that guns are all around you and are not going away.
The Political Environment is Becoming More Gun Friendly
Despite the sentiment often portrayed by lobbyist groups the truth is that laws that favor gun ownership, use, and concealed carry are growing larger and expanding like never before. In 2011 Federal Laws changed to begin to allow firearms into National Parks in select states for the first time. In 2012 a Federal District court ruled that the state of Illinois’s law was unconstitutional so far as it didn’t allow private citizens to carry firearms. Since that court decision Illinois has setup a concealed carry program and begun to issue permits to its citizens making it the last of the 50 states to do so.
Even in our nation’s capital, Washington D.C. two federal court rulings since 2013 have found the district in violation of the constitution by its refusal to issue concealed carry permits and then again due to its requiring applicants for the permit to show due cause or need. So while there are some states who have taken recent steps backwards the overall political climate is moving in favor of gun owners who would use firearms both for sport and self-defense.
